PHP Basics Introduction

PHP stands for Hypertext Preprocessor, although some people also call it Personnel Home Page. This was the full form given to it when there was no full form given to it. Later on a meaningfull full form is given to PHP  ie Hypertext Preprocessor.

PHP is Server Side language . We need a Server to run the PHP code/files.In PHP’s case we use apache as a server.You can use the whole stack of (mysql+php+apache) by downloading  XAMPP/WAMP/LAMP/MAMP.

Full Form Of Various stacks are as follows

XAMPP: X for any Operating System,A for apache , M for Mysql, P for PERL and P for PHP.

LAMP: L for Linux Operating System,A for apache , M for Mysql and P for PHP .

WAMP: W for Windows Operating System,A for apache , M for Mysql and P for PHP .

MAMP: M for MAC Operating System,A for apache , M for Mysql and P for PHP .

Every PHP code is written between PHP tags. There are many ways of enclosing PHP code on the file.

The most popular one is <?php(start tag) and ?>(end tag). My favorite too.
