Need Help With Life? – How to Know What to Do For a Career

Do you need help with life OR are trying to figure out how to know what to do for a career? If you’re like most people, these thoughts have probably come into your mind at one point or another.  For many, this is one of the toughest questions that they will face during their life time.  Whether you’re currently in a job, transitioning in between jobs, or are an entrepreneur looking to create a company or improve your company, you probably realize that behind this question lies an answer that will lead to a MAJOR breakthrough for you.  So what is the answer to this question??choosing a career

Earlier on in my career when I was building my 1st company and working 60+ hour work weeks, I used to ask myself this question all the time.  As I used to work late into the evenings, I would always wonder if there was more to life than the daily grind that I was going through.  In a sense, I felt stuck.  I felt trapped by my business and my work.  The passion and excitement for life had quickly waned and disappeared.

Did I need help with my life?  The answer was a resounding YES.  But… how would I figure out how to know what to do for a career?

Even though I didn’t have all the answers initially, I knew that if I kept searching for the answers, I would eventually find them…and find them I did!  As I continued to work long work hours, the frustration continued to build and I gained a better understanding of what I enjoyed doing and what I absolutely hated doing.

In your life, at your job, or in your business, are you crystal clear on what you enjoy doing OR what you absolutely hate doing?  If you answered ‘Yes’ to this question, look at that list closely because your answer lies within.  If you answered ‘No’ to this question, begin by creating a list of what you enjoy doing and what you don’t enjoy doing.  Even if you are unsure, start off with a blank piece of paper and a beginners mindset.  Find a quiet location free of distractions and let your mind flow.  If you find yourself getting discouraged, just understand that this is part of the discovery process.  Having awareness of this aspect of your life is the first step in discovering what you were meant to do on this earth.

So, sit down.  Spend 15 minutes going through this process.  What did you discover about yourself during this process?  Are you closer to figuring out how to know what to do for a career?
